Goals either side of half-time from Liam Feeney and Andrew Keogh help Milwall to a 2-1 victory over Derby County in the Championship.

Goals either side of half-time from Liam Feeney and Andrew Keogh gave Millwall a 2-1 victory over Derby County in the Championship this afternoon.

The hosts started well, firing an early warning shot through midfielder Liam Trotter, who forced a save from Adam Legzdins with his left boot.

Derby's Will Hughes produced a vital block on 14 minutes to deny Lions defender Shane Lowry, who let fly after picking up Feeney's corner.

Kenny Jackett's men kept up the early pressure, forcing another save from Legzdins through New Zealand international Chris Wood three minutes later.

Millwall dominated the attacking play throughout the first half and took a deserved lead before the break through Feeney.

Chris Taylor crossed the ball in from the left wing and midfielder Feeney found the back of the net. Feeney appeared to be offside, but the goal stood despite Derby's protests.

Millwall were left ruing their first-half wastefulness when Craig Bryson put the visitors level early in the second half through Hughes's left-footed drive.

Derby held on to their lead until the 76th minute. Scott Malone played in Keogh on the left for him to find the bottom corner from 18 yards out to make it 2-1.

Milwall had goalkeeper David Forde to thank for keeping their lead intact. The shot-stopper twice denied Michael Jacobs at the death to help his side pick up three points.
