Philippe Clement hails Rangers' seventh summer signing as "a great asset" that will "bring a fresh presence to our attacking options."

Rangers have announced the signing of Moroccan striker Hamza Igamane from FAR Rabat, subject to international clearance.

The 21-year-old moves to Ibrox for a reported £2.5m and is understood to have put pen to paper on a five-year contract until June 2029.

Igamane contributed to 24 goals (16 goals, eight assists) in 58 appearances for FAR Rabat, including seven goals and six assists recorded in 20 appearances in the Moroccan top flight earlier this season.

The striker has represented Morocco at Under-23 level on eight occasions, but he has not been selected in their squad for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Igamane becomes Philippe Clement's seventh signing of the summer transfer window after Mohamed Diomande, Jefte, Oscar Cortes, Clinton Nsiala, Connor Barron and Liam Kelly.

Speaking to Rangers' official website following confirmation of his arrival, Igamane said: "I am really proud to join Rangers and I can't wait to get started with my teammates.

"It is a huge club, with a loyal fanbase and a lot of history. I am excited for my future here and looking forward to being a part of this club."

Clement added: "I am delighted to welcome Hamza to Rangers and we believe he will be a great asset to our squad. He has a lot of talent and potential and he will bring a fresh presence to our attacking options.

"We know it will be a big change in culture and a new country for Hamza to adapt to, but as a club we will support him on and off the pitch to settle in here."

Director of Football Recruitment Nils Koppen continued: "I would like to welcome Hamza to Scotland and to Rangers and I am thrilled he will be joining our squad.

"He is an exciting young talent, who has already shown his energy, skill and determination during his time in Morocco and at international level. I look forward to seeing him develop further in our club".

Igamane will soon link up with his new Rangers teammates for pre-season and will look to force his way into Clement's first-team plans ahead of their opening Scottish Premiership fixture of the 2024-25 season away against Hearts on August 3.
