Cristiano Ronaldo impressed by team performance

Cristiano Ronaldo lavishes his teammates in praise following Real Madrid's 6-1 win over Schalke 04 on Wednesday.

Cristiano Ronaldo has praised all of his Real Madrid teammates for contributing to the 6-1 victory over Schalke 04 on Wednesday night.

Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema all scored braces in the impressive win in Germany but Madrid's top scorer was eager to speak about the entire team after the final whistle.

"All three of us did well and not just in terms of scoring the goals," the 29-year-old told Canal+. "In general, the entire team, from Iker [Casillas] to the defenders and midfielders, everyone did their job well.

"We have played some very good games this season and this was one more. Schalke were not at their best level. We are happy as we are now very close to reaching the next round."

Madrid host Schalke in the second leg on March 18.
