Joseph Mills's red card has been upheld following his sending-off against Walsall at the weekend.
The Shrewsbury Town defender, who is on loan from Oldham, was dismissed for a challenge on James Chambers during the 1-0 defeat.
Manager Mike Jackson told the club's website: "I'm disappointed as I thought we had a very good case to challenge the decision, especially after consulting the people that we did and with the work everyone put in.
"I don't think it was a sending-off and it's another example of a wrong decision which we are being punished for."
The 24-year-old will serve a three-match ban.
