Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how South Korea could line up for Monday's World Cup 2022 last-16 clash with Brazil.

South Korea attacker Hwang Hee-chan is pushing for a start in Monday's World Cup 2022 last-16 clash with Brazil at Stadium 974.

The Wolverhampton Wanderers man was unavailable for his side's first two Group H games due to a hamstring injury, but he came off the bench to score a stoppage-time winner against Portugal on Friday.

That goal would ultimately send the Tigers of Asia through to the knockout rounds, and Hwang could successfully challenge Lee Jae-sung for a place in the final third.

The aerial effectiveness of Cho Gue-sung in the number nine spot means that Hwang will likely settle for a start out wide, while Son Heung-min will occupy the left flank as ever.

Lee Kang-in was one of two players withdrawn with a physical issue against Portugal, but at this stage there is nothing to suggest that the Mallorca man cannot start in the number 10 role.

Jung Woo-young and Hwang In-beom ought to form the double pivot in midfield, as Kim Jin-su and Kim Moon-hwan retain their spots in the full-back areas.

Napoli defender Kim Min-jae has been dealing with a calf problem and did not play at all in the win over Portugal, and he has not trained fully ahead of Monday's game - Kwon Kyung-won should therefore deputise again.

Kyung-won could earn another starting berth if the issue that goalscoring centre-back Kim Young-gwon sustained against Portugal proves to be a serious one, but that is not expected to be the case, so the 32-year-old should protect number one Kim Seung-gyu in a five-Kim defence.

South Korea possible starting lineup: Seung-gyu; Moon-hwan, Kyung-won, Young-gwon, Jin-su; In-beom, Woo-young; Hee-chan, Kang-in, Heung-min; Gue-sung
