Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy cuts short his holiday to deal with Gareth Bale's future at the club, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is reportedly refusing to entertain the idea of selling Gareth Bale this summer, giving the Welshman the silent treatment over a bid from Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants reportedly put together a package worth a record-breaking £86m to land Bale last week - an offer that Spurs swiftly rejected.

Bale is believed to be distraught over Levy's refusal to negotiate with Madrid, but the Spurs chairman remains unmoved and is desperate to keep the winger at White Hart Lane, according to The Mirror.

Levy reportedly cut short his family holiday in Florida to hold talks over a new contract with Bale's representatives this week, after preliminary negotiations hit deadlock earlier this year.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has declined to comment on Bale's future in recent press conferences, with the club's top scorer still missing from pre-season action due to a muscle injury.
