FC Koln edge past Stuttgart to get off to winning start

FC Koln score three times in the final 15 minutes to earn a 3-1 win over Stuttgart on the opening weekend of the Bundesliga season.

FC Koln have got their Bundesliga campaign off to a winning start, courtesy of a 3-1 victory over Stuttgart.

All the goals came in the final 15 minutes at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, but Daniel Didavi almost opened the scoring early on when he sent a shot back off the back.

Timo Horn then had to be alert to deny Divadi from close range, while Jonas Hector cleared Martin Harnik's header off the line.

Koln were finally off the mark when Anthony Modeste converted from the spot with 74 minutes played, and moments later Simon Zoller found a way past Przemyslaw Tyton to double the visitors' advantage.

Some hope was restored for the Reds after Didavi finally made a way through, only for Yuya Osako to seal things in the closing stages.
