Marco Silva: 'Watford must move on from Manchester City hammering'

Watford boss Marco Silva that admits his side must learn from their 6-0 defeat to Manchester City, but wants them to put the result behind them and look forward.

Marco Silva has urged his Watford players to move on from their 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City as they prepare to face Swansea City on Saturday.

The Hornets were unbeaten prior to last weekend's game at Vicarage Road, having won two and drawn two of their previous Premier League matches this season, including 2-0 away wins at Bournemouth and Southampton.

Watford boss Silva, however, wants his charges to put the defeat to one of this season's likely title contenders to one side, preferring instead to focus on what they did well as a team before that game.

"It is important we analyse the match, like we do every time," the Portuguese coach told reporters on Thursday. "This is a good match for us to learn something [from]. There is always something important to learn. Now is the moment to react.

"It was a bad afternoon but it was in the past and we must look forward. It is always important you forget nothing - the good things and the others. We did some things in the wrong way, which we need to improve. We need to continue doing what we did well before [the City defeat]."

Watford currently sit 11th in the Premier League table with eight points from five games.
