Johanna Konta has decided to withdraw from next week's Kremlin Cup, resulting in her absence from the end-of-season WTA Championships.
After a poor run of form, Konta dropped outside of the top eight qualifying places on Sunday, leaving the British number one needing to reach the final in Moscow next week.
However, the 26-year-old has opted to withdraw with a foot injury, which also resulted in the world number 10 struggling ahead of the China Open last week.
Konta could still potentially act as an alternate at next month's tournament in Singapore, but participation would be reliant on one of her rivals pulling out of the lucrative event.
Since reaching the Wimbledon semi-finals in July, Konta has won just two matches, with no victory being recorded since August.
