Half-Time Report: Nicklas Bendtner puts Arsenal ahead

Nicklas Bendtner's second-minute goal separates Arsenal from Hull City at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are 1-0 up against Hull City at half time in their Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners surged ahead as early as the second minute when Nicklas Bendtner headed home Carl Jenkinson's cross from close range.

The hosts could have doubled their lead 10 minutes later when Per Mertesacker's header almost fell to Jenkinson at the near post, but Hull goalkeeper Allan McGregor made a good save at the last moment.

Minutes later Bendtner came close again when he found himself in a good position, but his effort went wide.

McGregor was called into action again after the half-hour mark when he was forced into a good save from Aaron Ramsey's long-range effort.
