Arsene Wenger: Jack Wilshere to miss "a matter of days"

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists that Jack Wilshere will only miss "a matter of days" after picking up a knock in training.

Arsene Wenger has insisted that Jack Wilshere will only miss "a matter of days" after being ruled out of the Community Shield with an ankle injury.

The England international picked up the knock during training yesterday, which prevented him from playing in Arsenal's 1-0 win over Chelsea at Wembley.

Speaking at his post-match press conference, Wenger said: "He couldn't take part in the game today because of an ankle problem he sustained yesterday. It happened at the training ground.

"We don't think it's bad at all but I haven't been told whether it will be two days or five days. I don't know how long he will not be available for. It's a matter of days."

Wilshere missed almost five months last season after picking up an ankle ligament injury which required surgery.
