Arsenal boss Unai Emery: 'Jack Wilshere will get good reception'

Arsenal boss Unai Emery says that he has no doubts that Jack Wilshere will receive a good reception when representing West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery has said that he expects Jack Wilshere to receive a positive reception at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Wilshere ended his long-term association with Arsenal in the summer in order to link up with West Ham United, and the two teams meet in North London this weekend.

Emery has acknowledged that he hopes to see Wilshere's service for the Gunners recognised, but wants no distractions after the opening whistle.

At a press conference, the Spaniard told reporters: "I spoke with him for 15 minutes here in Colney before he left. The first thing for me is I have respect for his career here, and then, he chooses what the best was for him in his future.

"It's for that, on Saturday, I know that here, the supporters like him and have this respect also. I think there is a good reception for him here. Then we are going to play and we are going to think after that, for us to win. But, I [hope] the best for his career."

Both teams go into the game having suffered back-to-back defeats in the top flight.
