Kieran Gibbs, Marouane Chamakh out for Arsenal

Kieran Gibbs and Marouane Chamakh will miss Arsenal's game against West Brom on Saturday, while Thomas Vermaelen is expected to start.

Kieran Gibbs and Marouane Chamakh have been ruled out of Arsenal's game against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday due to injury.

Manager Arsene Wenger revealed that Chamakh has a knee problem, while Gibbs is struggling with a strain of his stomach muscles.

"[Chamakh] has a little inflammation in his knee," said Wenger. "There is a little effusion and he will not be available for Saturday. I think he will miss the international games as well. Hopefully he should be ready again after the international break.

"[Gibbs] is not available for Saturday as well. He is progressing normally, a bit slower than expected but there's a chance he might be available after the international break."

Meanwhile, Thomas Vermaelen is expected to start at the Emirates Stadium after he played a full 90 minutes against Marseille on Tuesday.
