Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone is convinced that Arsene Wenger's side have enough quality to mount a sustained challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone has declared that he is convinced the Gunners have enough quality to mount a sustained challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Mannone has taken advantage of an injury to first-choice keeper Wojciech Szczesny in the early part of the campaign, enjoying a sustained run in the Arsenal team.

The Italian youth international has helped Arsene Wenger's side enjoy a solid start to the season, losing just one of their opening seven league games.

"We have a good solid squad and I think we can go for it. I have no doubt that if we keep our focus and we keep our mentality, it's not a doubt that we are going to challenge for the title," he told the club's official website.

"This is a club that is made for victories, it's not a club that just wants to do well and get the third or fourth place. This club wants to win trophies and I wish that I can give my help for this team to do it."

The 24-year-old is in pole position to continue in goal for Arsenal this weekend as the Gunners travel to Carrow Road to take on a Norwich City side still looking for their opening league victory of the season.
