Aaron Ramsey: 'Arsenal confident of title bid'

Aaron Ramsey claims that Arsenal are confident of being in the Premier League title race for the long run after beating Aston Villa 2-0.

Aaron Ramsey has claimed that Arsenal are confident of making a strong bid for Premier League glory after reaching the top of the table with a 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

Goals from Olivier Giroud and Ramsey secured the points at Villa Park as Arsene Wenger's side returned to domestic action following their vital win over Olympiacos to reach the Champions League knockout stage in midweek.

Despite currently sitting in such a healthy position, Ramsey believes that the Gunners must maintain this form over the festive period to boost their chances.

"We believe we have an opportunity to win the title," the Wales international told Sky Sports News. "We have shown what we are capable of and have to continue now, in what is a busy part of the season.

"We have to maintain our focus and belief. Who knows what will happen but we believe we can challenge for trophies."

Arsenal could be removed from the top of the table if Leicester City beat Chelsea on Monday night.
