Wojciech Szczesny 'dropped by Roma after being caught smoking'

Wojciech Szczesny was reportedly dropped by Roma for last weekend's defeat to Atalanta because he was caught smoking.

Roma reportedly dropped goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny after he was caught smoking following last week's heavy defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League.

The Poland international, who is on loan at the Stadio Olimpico from Arsenal for the season, was caught lighting up twice during his last 12 months at the Gunners.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Morgan De Sanctis was selected ahead of Szczesny for last weekend's 2-0 defeat to Atalanta because he was spotted smoking after Roma were hammered 6-1 by Barcelona.

At the end of the European game, Szczesny said that Barcelona's rout was "beautiful to watch", despite being on the losing side.
