Liverpool and Arsenal target Baris Yilmaz can be sold "for around €30m (£25m)" this summer, according to the president of the Galatasaray star's former club in Turkey.

Arsenal and Liverpool have reportedly learned how much the services of Galatasaray attacker Baris Yilmaz will cost this summer.

The 24-year-old has spent the majority of the off-season as part of Turkey's squad at Euro 2024 in Germany, where the Crescent-Stars were aiming for continental triumph.

Yilmaz's side did well to beat dark horses Austria in the round of 16, however Turkey's Euro dreams ended at the quarter-final stage against Netherlands.

The Crescent-Stars enjoyed a stellar opening 45 minutes and raced into the lead courtesy of Samet Akaydin, however Ronald Koeman's men staged a second-half comeback to advance into the final four.

Leading the line for his nation, Yilmaz played every single minute of Turkey's Euro 2024 campaign, meaning that he more than deserves an extended break ahead of the new club campaign.

Although Galatasaray will be the main financial beneficiaries of the sale of Yilmaz, former club Ankara Keciorengucu also stand to gain from a deal.

Speaking to Turkish outlet Aksam, Keciorengucu club president Sedat Tahiroglu said: "We have 20% of Yilmaz's fee but Galatasaray has not requested a meeting with us on this issue.

"I hear Liverpool and Arsenal want him but I know Nuri Sahin definitely wants him [at Borussia Dortmund]. I do not think that the price will be €50m. He can be sold for around €30m (£25m).

"The path needs to be paved for young people for Turkish football. Hopefully, he will make the decision that is good for him.

"The money is not important. The important thing is for Baris to go to a team where he will be successful because he will be the face of Turkey."

Virgil van Dijk praise and other contenders

With Yilmaz supposedly attainable for just £25m this summer, Arne Slot's side would be wise to submit a serious offer for the attacker following Virgil van Dijk's observations.

The Reds defender played against the Turkey star in the last eight of Euro 2024 and praised the young attacker for his tireless running and energy.

As well as Liverpool and Arsenal, Champions League-bound Aston Villa are also known to be interested in securing the services of the 20-time international.

With Keciorengucu's club president claiming that Bundesliga outfit Dortmund are keen on Yilmaz, the 24-year-old is set to have plenty of options ahead of a potentially career-defining move away from the Turkish Super Lig.
