Zlatan Ibrahimovic injury could scupper Liverpool and Arsenal's transfer plans

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is injured playing for Paris Saint-Germain, which could scupper Liverpool and Arsenal's transfer plans.

Liverpool and Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their quests to bolster their squads with the news that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been injured while playing for Paris Saint-Germain this afternoon.

Ibrahimovic, 32, was forced off just 15 minutes into his side's Ligue 1 tie against Bastia, where he was replaced by Ezequiel Lavezzi.

The Swedish international's injury could scupper Liverpool's plans to bring in Lavezzi, while Arsenal could be similarly hindered in their pursuit of fellow Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani, according to The Metro.

The full extent of Ibrahimovic's injury is not yet clear, but Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc may now decide to keep both Lavezzi and Cavani in Paris while the injury is assessed.
