Report: Arsenal to target Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus

A report claims that £30m-rated Borussia Dortmund wideman Marcos Reus is the man Arsenal want to replace Alexis Sanchez should the Chilean move on next summer.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made Borussia Dortmund ace Marco Reus his top transfer target should he lose Alexis Sanchez next summer.

The Gunners have been unable to tie down the Chile international, who has 18 months left to run on his current deal and is still deliberating over agreeing fresh terms.

Wenger is said to be concerned about the situation, with Mesut Ozil another who is yet to put pen to paper, but the Frenchman has already made plans to bring Reus to the Emirates Stadium should he lose one of his key duo.

According to The Mirror, Wenger is a huge fan of the 27-year-old and has previously looked to tempt him to the Premier League to no avail.

Reus is just returning to action after six months on the sidelines and will definitely sit out this weekend's huge Bundesliga showdown with Bayern Munich, but it is suggested that Arsenal are happy to hand over £30m next summer if he can prove his fitness between now and the end of the season.

Juventus are understood to be the frontrunners to land Sanchez should he fail to commit his future to Arsenal, while Manchester City could also be tempted into making a bid for the former Barcelona ace.
