Arsenal are leading the chase to sign Chelsea-linked midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund, according to a report.
The 27-year-old is thought to be on his way out of the Bundesliga as he heads into the final year of his contract.
It is claimed by The Sun that Mkhitaryan prefers a move to Arsenal, despite Chelsea and fellow Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur both showing a rumoured interest in the Armenia international.
Mkhitaryan is said to have turned down fresh talks with Dortmund and is assessing his options, but a move to Arsenal will likely set the club back around £85,000 a week in wages on top of a hefty transfer fee.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already moved to bring in talented midfielder Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach in a £30m deal, while Leicester City's Jamie Vardy is also a confirmed target.
