Report: Real Madrid have buy-back option for Arsenal's Mesut Ozil

Real Madrid reportedly have the option to buy back Arsenal star Mesut Ozil, who joined the Gunners from the Spanish club in 2013.

Real Madrid reportedly have the chance to buy back Mesut Ozil from Arsenal should the Premier League club opt to sell him in the future.

The German World Cup winner joined the Gunners from the Spanish giants in 2013 for a fee in the region of £42m.

A transfer document has been published by the Football Leaks website stating that Arsenal and Madrid negotiated a buy-back clause at the time of the deal.

The clause reportedly states that Madrid have first option on Ozil for 48 hours in the event that Arsenal agree a fee with another Spanish club.

Should a sale be agreed with a club outside of Spain, then the buy-back option does not come into effect.

The document also reveals that the final €6m (£4.5m) of the transfer fee will be paid in €1m (£759) instalments every year Arsenal reach the group stages of the Champions League.
