Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has insisted that Luis Suarez is worth a lot more than £40,000,001.
Arsenal were rumoured to have a made a bid of that amount as it activates a clause in the Uruguayan stiker's contract regarding negotiations with other clubs.
Rodgers, though, compares the offer to Real Madrid's reported £105m bid for Gareth Bale, claiming that Suarez is as good as the Welshman.
"I was on the phone to the owners last night and they know what we're trying to do here," he told reporters. "We're in no hurry to sell Luis or any other player.
"Throughout the world, every player has a value and worth. You look at the market and £40,000,001, when Gareth Bale, they are talking a lot more than that.
"Gareth Bale and Luis Suarez were arguably the two best players in the Premier League last year and you can't say Bale is valued 100% more."
Suarez played today as Liverpool beat Olympiakos 2-0 in Steven Gerrard's testimonial match.
