Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy says that he does not regret turning down the chance to join Arsenal in the summer of 2016.

Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy has insisted that he does not regret turning down the chance to join Arsenal in the summer of 2016.

Vardy was strongly linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium during Euro 2016, but the striker ultimately decided to remain at the King Power Stadium following his team's Premier League title triumph.

The 31-year-old has said that he 'has not looked back' since deciding to remain with Leicester, and is now looking forward to representing England at the 2018 World Cup.

"I made my decision back then and I've not looked back since, carried on, played my football, been doing well for my club and I think that's what's got me the opportunity where I can go to a World Cup," Vardy told BBC Sport.

"The Euros was a new experience for me and the World Cup is going to be, but obviously the Euros is a major tournament as well and you know exactly what you've got coming so you can be more relaxed about it knowing I have been there before."

Vardy scored 23 times in 42 appearances for Leicester in all competitions during the 2017-18 season.
