Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that he will only add to his squad during the January transfer window if he is able to sign an "exceptional player".
The Gunners, who sit seventh in the Premier League table with 30 points from 18 games, have been linked with moves for David Villa and Demba Ba in recent weeks.
"We are in the market but only if we find players who will really strengthen us because we have a good squad," said Wenger. "But if we find an exceptional player then we will take him.
"We lacked fluidity in our attacks against Wigan and continuity in our attacking play but we won because of our will to win.
"And, with the way things are now, I won't turn my nose up at that."
It is believed that Wenger has been allocated £30m to spend during the January window.
