Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner has reportedly moved a big step closer to a £150m sale of Aston Villa.
The Villans are said to have attracted the interest of many potential buyers, with as many as three consortiums being locked in negotiations since the beginning of last year.
However, it is claimed by The Telegraph that a mystery bidder has been granted exclusivity by the West Midlands outfit, meaning that a takeover could now be completed as soon as next month.
It has not been revealed exactly who has been granted the status, while non-disclosure agreements are said to have been signed to keep those involved out of the spotlight for the time being.
FA Cup runners-up Villa finished last season's Premier League campaign in 17th place.
