Preview: Aston Villa vs. Everton

Sports Mole looks ahead to this weekend's Premier League clash between Aston Villa and Everton.

Aston Villa can return to winning ways if they snatch all three points from their fixture against Everton on home turf this weekend.

Paul Lambert's men have been unable to take maximum points from their last two fixtures, with a 2-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur being their latest result at Villa Park.

The Midlands outfit have only clinched one victory in their four home fixtures this season, while this weekend's visitors have been in positive form under manager Roberto Martinez.

The Merseyside outfit were the only unbeaten team in the league until they suffered a 3-1 defeat to Manchester City, but they were able to bounce back after the international break with a 2-1 win over Hull City.

This fixture last season ended up being a positive one for Everton, who scooped a 3-1 victory at Villa Park, while the Midlands outfit have proved that they can hold their own against the Toffees by drawing 3-3 at Goodison Park.

Christian Benteke could start for Villa following his return from the bench against Spurs last weekend, while Steven Pienaar could be handed a starting role for the visitors following his impact against Hull.
