Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has admitted that he "would not hesitate" in signing Emmanuel Adebayor in January if the free agent showed commitment and desire.
The Togolese striker was released from his contract at Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend following a three-year spell.
The 31-year-old had fallen out of favour with Spurs coach Mauricio Pochettino as he was not included in either the club's Premier League or Europa League squads.
"I would not hesitate if he had the desire to want to come and play football," Sherwood told reporters. "He's too good a talent - I've seen that first hand - to not play any football, but unfortunately I don't think there's any window open for him now."
Adebayor reportedly turned down offers from Villa and West Ham United during the summer transfer window.
