Markus Weinzierl targets points at Borussia Dortmund

Markus Weinzierl is confident that his Augsburg side can upset Borussia Dortmund on Saturday afternoon.

Augsburg head coach Markus Weinzierl has insisted that his side can pick up points in Saturday's away clash against Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park.

Weinzierl said that it would not be easy to inflict Dortmund's third successive home defeat but that they were capable if they keep up the same level they managed in the first half of the season.

"It's a difficult task," he told Bundesliga.com. "It's unthinkable that BVB have lost their last three home games. That won't make things any easier for us, but we want to pick up points in Dortmund and, if possible, even win the match.

"We want to build on our achievements from the first half of the season and show the best side of ourselves. We want to play courageously, defend courageously and cause a few surprises as the underdogs."

Augsburg are currently eighth in the Bundesliga with 24 points.
