Luis Enrique: 'Lionel Messi the greatest of all time'

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique hails Lionel Messi as the greatest of all time after equalling Raul's record of 71 Champions League goals on Wednesday.

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has claimed that Lionel Messi is the best player of all time following his record-equalling heroics in last night's 2-0 win at Ajax.

Messi struck in both halves to move level with Real Madrid icon Raul on 71 Champions League goals, one clear of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Victory also helped the Catalans move into the last 16 of the competition, and Enrique is certain that he has never seen anybody quite as gifted as the Argentine.

"Messi is without doubt the best player I've seen as a player and a coach," Enrique told reporters.

"I'm happy for the side in general. There were parts of the game we could improve, but in general we had a marvellous attitude, and I'm happy."

Barcelona face Cypriot side APOEL in their penultimate Group F clash on November 25.
