Conference champions Barnet have secured the services of Tom Champion on a two-year contract.
The 29-year-old had been a free agent for a short period of time following his release by Cambridge United at the end of last season.
However, he has now returned to the club where he started his career back in 2004.
"I am over the moon to get it done. Coming off the back of a very successful season the club are clearly on a high and I am really excited to get going," he told the club's official website.
"I met the manager and really liked what he had to say, it seems like the club is pushing on in the right direction and is going to use the success that they had last season to really try and kick on again this year and I really wanted to buy into that."
Champion spent two years with Cambridge, whom he helped to win the FA Trophy and earn promotion back to the Football League.
