Team News: Franck Ribery missing for Bayern Munich's trip to Wolfsburg

Bayern Munich are without Franck Ribery for their top-of-the-table Bundesliga clash with Wolfsburg, but Robert Lewandowski is back and starts for the champions.

Franck Ribery misses out for Bayern Munich tonight as they return from the Bundesliga winter break with a top-of-the-table trip to Wolfsburg.

The French winger picked up a muscle injury in training this week, although his absence is cushioned by the return of Robert Lewandowski to lead the line.

Pep Guardiola has made three further changes to the side which needed a stoppage-time winner to see off Mainz last time out, welcoming back Xabi Alonso, David Alaba and Sebastian Rode at the expense of Rafinha, Mario Gotze and Pierre Hojbjerg.

Wolfsburg no longer have Ivica Olic to call upon after selling the veteran Croatian striker to Hamburger SV. Andre Schurrle is expected to arrive from Chelsea in the coming days, but is not yet on their books.

The hosts make two alterations to the side which beat Koln 2-1 over a month ago, with former Bayern midfielder Luiz Gustavo and Daniel Caligiuri restored in place of Josua Guilavogui and Junior Malanda, who died in a car crash over the New Year.

Victory for Wolfsburg at the Volkswagen Arena would see them cut the gap to the runaway leaders to eight points.
