Ex-QPR chairman Gianni Paladini reveals that he hopes to complete the takeover of Birmingham City within 10 days.

Former Queens Park Rangers chairman Gianni Paladini has revealed that he is hopeful of completing the purchase of Birmingham City "very soon".

The consortium that Paladini is fronting has already had two bids for the club rejected, the second of which was a £30m offer lodged two weeks ago.

However, the Italian is hopeful that they can complete a deal within 10 days, and even outlined his plan for the club during the January transfer window.

"We want to get a deal done very soon," Paladini told the Birmingham Mail.

"I am hopeful that we can get something agreed within the next 10 days. We have spent a lot of money trying to get this completed and are looking through the books. We are keen to get it all sorted by the end of next week.

"I still believe Birmingham can get into the play-offs and our intention is to sign four or five players in January to help the manager strengthen the squad."

Paladini was removed as QPR chairman in August of last year, leaving the club altogether three months later.
