David Dunn calls upon the fans of Blackburn Rovers to get behind the team instead of protesting against the club's owners.

Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Dunn has encouraged the supporters to show the players some "sympathy".

A large number of fans are thought to have become disillusioned with the club's owners, who have parted company with three managers already this season.

However, ahead of Friday's match against Lancashire rivals Blackpool on Good Friday, Dunn has urged those at Ewood Park to get behind the team, rather than launch a protest against the current situation.

"I hope the fans can somehow have some sympathy for the players and make it as easy as they can for us to play and get behind us and give us as much confidence as they can," he is quoted as saying by the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.

"Every fan is passionate about this club as are a lot of people on the playing side. Hopefully we can create an atmosphere that's good for us to go and get a positive result and not one that's going to be a protest."

Rovers go into the Blackpool clash 18th in the Championship standings, four points above the relegation zone.
