Blackburn Rovers have confirmed that caretaker manager Gary Bowyer will remain in charge of the club until the end of the season.
The Championship strugglers sacked Michael Appleton - their third coach of the campaign - on Tuesday after 67 days at Ewood Park.
"The club wishes to reiterate that Gary Bowyer will again take charge of the first team as caretaker manager until the end of the season," a Blackburn spokesman told BBC Sport.
"It is important for the club that everyone at the club and the fans once again show their support for Gary and the first team as we seek to end the season on a high note."
Blackburn are currently four points above the relegation zone in the Championship table.
