Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has insisted that there is no deal in place to sign Amer Abdulrahman on loan from Baniyas.
The Syrian club's deputy chairman Mubarak Awad said earlier on Saturday that the player would join up with Blackburn next week ahead of a season-long loan move.
"When the name got mentioned as a season-long loan, I don't know where they get the season-long loan from," Bowyer told the Lancashire Telegraph
"If the player was someone we would be interested in, we're not just going to take somebody on a season-long loan straight away. We would always make sure we've had a look at them."
Abdulrahman starred for the UAE at last year's Olympic Games in London.
