Preview: Bolivia vs. Andorra - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Monday's friendly clash between Bolivia and Andorra, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

On Monday, Bolivia will go head-to-head with European minnows Andorra in a friendly at the 19 May 1956 Stadium in Algeria.

The South Americans have won just one of their previous 10 internationals, while the Tricolors are winless in 14 matches.

Bolivia already face an almighty task to book their place at the 2026 World Cup, having lost five of their six qualifying matches.

La Verde began their campaign with four consecutive defeats, before they finally got on the board with a 2-0 home win over Peru.

However, they were quickly brought down to earth by a heavy 3-0 away defeat to Uruguay in their final outing of 2023, leaving them in ninth position and two points adrift of the playoff spot.

With their next qualifier set to take place in November, Bolivia have turned their focus to preparations for the Copa America in the USA this summer.

Bolivia looked set to begin their build-up to the tournament with a victory after taking a 2-1 lead in Friday's friendly with Algeria, only to concede two goals in the final 15 minutes to fall to a 3-2 defeat.

Having now gone four friendlies without a win, La Verde will be determined to pick up a confidence-boosting victory in their first-ever meeting with Andorra.

Andorra have drawn four and lost 11 of their last 15 games since beating Liechtenstein 2-0 in a UEFA Nations League game in September 2022.

Ten of those matches took place in Euro 2024 qualifying, where Andorra finished bottom of Group I with just two points to their name.

After losing their final six matches of qualifying, Koldo Alvarez's side would have been relieved to end that run with a 1-1 draw in Thursday's friendly with South Africa.

Cucu opened the scoring in the fifth minute to register Andorra's first goal since they got on the scoresheet in a 2-1 defeat to Israel in June 2023.

Although Elias Mokwana's equaliser ensured that the contest finished all square, the Tricolours have managed to avoid defeat in four of their last six friendlies, giving them a source of inspiration for Monday's meeting with Bolivia.

Team News

Bolivia boss Antonio Carlos Zago may take the opportunity to rotate his squad for the second fixture of the current international window.

Rodrigo Ramallo, Moises Villarroel and Miguelito are among those who could be considered for a starting spot.

Forward Jair Reinoso may also come into the side to add to his two international caps and start for the first time for his country.

As for Andorra, midfielder Jordi Alaez is a doubt for Monday's friendly after he was forced off in the first half against South Africa.

Eric de Pablos replaced Alaez in the 1-1 draw, and he could be presented with a starting opportunity if the 26-year-old is unable to take his place in the side.

After scoring his second international goal on Thursday, Cucu will hope to add to his tally when he features up front for the Tricolours.

Bolivia possible starting lineup:
Viscarra; Jusino, Haquin, Sagredo; Ramallo, Vaca, Villarroel, Fernandez; Algaranaz, Miguelito, Jair Reinos

Andorra possible starting lineup:
Gomes; Rubio, Llovera, Garcia, San Nicolas; De Pablos, Guillen, Vales, Cervos; Cucu, Pujol

We say: Bolivia 3-1 Andorra

Bolivia currently sit 78 places higher than Andorra in the FIFA World Rankings, and while they may have won just one of their last 10 matches, we think that they will prove too strong for their European opponents.
