Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of veteran striker Emile Heskey on a short-term deal.
The Championship side said this morning that the former Liverpool and England striker "impressed" during a recent trial period with the club.
The 36-year-old had been without a team since being released by Australian A-League outfit Newcastle Jets in April.
Bolton boss Neil Lennon, who is a former Leicester City teammate of Heskey's, will be able to pick him for the Boxing Day Lancashire Derby against Blackburn Rovers if international clearance is received in time.
He becomes the second ex-Premier League player to join the Trotters in recent weeks following the arrival of Eidur Gudjohnsen.
