Bayer Leverkusen see off Borussia Dortmund

Karim Bellarabi scores after nine seconds as Bayer Leverkusen beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in their first Bundesliga match of the season.

Karim Bellarabi scored the fastest goal in Bundesliga history for Bayer Leverkusen as they began their league season with a 2-0 victory at Borussia Dortmund this evening.

There were only nine seconds on the clock when Bellarabi collected Sebastian Boenisch's pass and turned his marker on the edge of the box, before drilling a low effort past the keeper.

Hakan Calhanoglu came close to doubling the Leverkusen's lead, but he sent his free kick just wide of the post.

The visitors continued to create the better of the chances and Boenisch fired wide from inside the box after being found by Stefan Kiessling.

After the break, Matthias Ginter had the best chance for the hosts when his header from a corner was turned wide by Bernd Leno.

Kiessling added a second for Leverkusen in stoppage time when he was played through by Bellarabi before finishing confidently past Mitch Langerak, as Jurgen Klopp's side fell to a defeat in their first league outing.
