Steve Cook: 'Bournemouth don't need to sell players'

Steve Cook believes that players will be eager to stay at Bournemouth following a successful season.

Steve Cook has insisted that there is no reason for Bournemouth to allow key players to leave the club this summer.

The 23-year-old defender is one of the members of the squad who have been linked with a move away at the end of the season, but he believes that a successful campaign in the Championship will persuade players to commit their future to the club.

"I think it is inevitable that some of our players will be linked with other clubs after the excellent season we have had," Cook told the Daily Echo.

"Bournemouth has always attracted interest from other clubs and you only have to see how many players have left in the past.

"But times have changed now and I don't see any reason why the club would need to sell players because it is only going in one direction."

Bournemouth finished the campaign 10th in the table.
