Bournemouth midfielder Richard Hughes has announced his retirement from football at the age of the 35.
The Scot ends his playing days for a second time after a brief retirement three years ago when he left Portsmouth.
He spent his entire 15-year professional career on the South Coast with Pompey and the Cherries, making over 250 league appearances.
Speaking of his last two years with Bournemouth, Hughes told the Daily Echo: "To play, albeit a minor role, in arguably two of the most successful seasons in the club's history has been a source of major enjoyment, pride and satisfaction.
"I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to end on this note. I am doing it for the right reasons and with no regrets."
Hughes added that he wants to remain in the game in some capacity.
