Half-Time Report: Martyn Woolford opener edges Millwall closer to safety

Millwall put distance between themselves and the relegation zone as they lead Bournemouth 1-0 at half time.

Millwall have put distance between themselves and the Championship relegation zone as they lead Bournemouth 1-0 at half time.

Millwall began brightly, with Martyn Woolford firing wide from distance before Owen Garvan glanced a header over the bar from a corner.

Stefan Maierhofer's header was saved by Lee Camp, and Steve Morison scuffed the rebound wide as the home side continued to press for an opener.

Morison then struck the bar with a looping effort, while Bournemouth showed a rare glimpse of their attacking prowess when Tokelo Rantie forced David Forde into a save.

Just before the half-hour mark, Millwall did put themselves 1-0 up when Garvan battled his way past a challenge on the left wing and floated in a cross which Woolford flicked into the far corner.
