Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has revealed that Benik Afobe is close to joining the club.
Yesterday a leading online bookmaker suspended betting on the Wolverhampton Wanderers frontman making the switch to Dean Court following intense speculation.
Howe has now clarified the reports, with the deal potentially being concluded in time for the 22-year-old to feature for the Cherries against West Ham United on Tuesday night.
"A deal has been agreed, there are still hurdles for us to overcome but we hope he'll sign in time for Tuesday night," he told reporters.
"He'll bring strength, power and hopefully goals. We'll be excited to see him for Bournemouth if the deal gets completed."
It is believed that the Premier League outfit have agreed to pay £12m for the former Arsenal player.
