Report: Sylvain Distin agrees in principle to join Bournemouth

Sylvain Distin agrees in principle to join Premier League newcomers Bournemouth, according to a report.

Bournemouth have reportedly agreed a deal in principle to sign defender Sylvain Distin.

The 37-year-old will be a free agent at the end of this month when his contract at Everton expires.

The Cherries are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of their first-ever season in the Premier League.

Distin has a wealth of top-flight experience in England, having also played for Newcastle United, Manchester City and Portsmouth prior to joining Everton in 2009.

According to Sky Sports News, Distin has agreed to link up with the Cherries.

Distin made 210 appearances in all competitions for Everton during his six years at Goodison Park.
