Football Association reinstate Bradford City into FA Cup

Bradford City's appeal against their expulsion from this season's FA Cup has been successful and they will now face Brentford in a replay.

The Football Association has reinstated League Two outfit Bradford City into this year's FA Cup.

Phil Parkinson's side had originally been expelled for fielding loanee defender Curtis Good during their round-two match against Brentford without having received the necessary clearance.

However, the Bantams insisted that they had made an honest mistake and immediately lodged an appeal against the verdict with the FA.

Having considered the challenge, the governing body have decided to alter their original decision and have instead issued the club with a £1,000 fine.

As a result, Bradford will now take on Brentford in a replay next Tuesday evening after the first meeting between the two clubs ended in a 1-1 draw at Valley Parade.

The news has rounded off a positive 24 hours for Bradford, who yesterday reached the semi-finals of the League Cup courtesy of a victory over Premier League side Arsenal on penalties.
