Bradford City, Coventry City share spoils in six-goal thriller

Nahki Wells scores a penalty in the last minute as Bradford City fight back from behind to secure a draw against Coventry City.

A stoppage-time penalty from Nahki Wells has secured a draw for Bradford City against Coventry City in an incident-packed match.

The Sky Blues were ahead with only two minutes on the clock. Jon McLaughlin failed to collect the ball from a free kick and it fell to Andy Webster, who volleyed it in through a crowd of players.

They doubled their lead five minutes later when Leon Clarke tucked the ball into an empty net after McLaughlin had saved Callum Wilson's shot.

Coventry's impressive start to the game continued and they almost made it three, but Wilson's shot was saved and then spun up and hit the crossbar.

The frantic pace of the game then swung in Bradford's favour. A long ball over the top saw James Hanson and Joe Murphy challenge for it. The Bantams striker won the duel and the ball rolled to Wells, who tapped in.

With only 28 minutes gone, the game's fourth goal was scored and it was Bradford who got it. Again Hanson won the ball after it had been lofted into the air, knocking it down for Wells to get his second of the game with a volley.

The home side's good work to get back into the match was then undone by the Sky Blues. Wilson raced down the right, beat the defence with a step over and smashed the ball in.

Steven Pressley's men came out in the second half determined to extend their lead and Franck Moussa went close with a shot that McLaughlin turned round the post.

However, Wells was close to getting his hat-trick for the home side when his free kick flicked the top of the crossbar.

Hanson then missed a chance for another equaliser, heading over after Mark Yeates had crossed the ball to the back post.

Much like the rest of the match, Coventry went straight up the other end and saw a Wilson header saved by McLaughlin.

However, the drama was not over yet. In the final minute of the match, Bradford were awarded a penalty when Jordan Clarke handled in the area. Wells stepped up and scored to grab his hat-trick and a point for the home side.
