Half-Time Report: Bristol City, Walsall level at the break

Bristol City play out a 2-2 first half with Walsall at Ashton Gate on the final day of the League One season.

League One champions Bristol City have played out an entertaining four-goal first half with Walsall in their final game of the season at Ashton Gate this afternoon.

The visitors took a surprise lead on 11 minutes when Jordy Hiwula converted calmly after a swift counter-attack.

However, the champions responded through Aden Flint when he volleyed home from a corner on 16 minutes after good pressure from the hosts.

Steve Cotterill's side were handed a great chance to take the lead before the half-hour mark when Kieron Morris was judged to have handled the ball inside area.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas took the resulting spot-kick and made no mistake from 12 yards to give the promoted side the lead before the break.

However, Hiwula struck his second of the afternoon on 36 minutes when he side-footed home past an unsighted goalkeeper to make it 2-2.
