Don Cowie eager to move on from Sunderland defeat

Cardiff City midfielder Don Cowie reveals that he is eager to move on quickly from Sunday's 4-0 defeat to Sunderland.

Cardiff City midfielder Don Cowie has revealed that he is eager to move on quickly from Sunday's 4-0 defeat to Sunderland.

The Bluebirds slipped to the bottom of the Premier League table as they were brushed aside by their fellow strugglers at the Stadium of Light.

Cowie has now urged his teammates to forget that result and focus on taking six points from their remaining two games of the season.

"It's disappointing. The manner of the goals we conceded were hard to take, but we have to get on with it, we can't feel sorry for ourselves," he told the club's official website.

"We lick our wounds and get on with it. There's no point in feeling sorry for ourselves because there is simply no time for us to do so. We get on with it and focus on two massive games ahead. We've got to try and get maximum points."

Cardiff return to league action on Saturday when they face Newcastle United at St James' Park.
