Neil Lennon will not be charged by UEFA for comments that he made about the officials after Celtic's match against Juventus.

UEFA will take no action against Neil Lennon for the comments that he made after his Celtic side lost 3-0 to Juventus at Parkhead last night.

When asked to assess the performance of the match officials after his side were denied a number of penalties following collisions inside the area, Lennon was openly critical.

"I thought he was poor. I thought he was very pro-Juventus. I was disappointed with his performance to say the least," he told Sky Sports News. "I would like to ask the Italian journalists what they made of the way Juventus marked our players.

"It looked to me as if they were fouling at every opportunity. The referee was warned by our players to keep an eye on it but he ignored our requests time and again.

"The game must be different in Spain and in Italy from what it is in Britain because you cannot do that in the penalty box because it is a penalty. It is not rugby they are playing it is soccer. There is a way to defend and we do it as fairly as possible."

Reports over the last few hours had suggested that the former Northern Ireland international would receive a fine for his words.

However, having reviewed the interview, the European governing body have decided to take no action.
