Former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas emerges as the favourite to take over from Kenny Dalglish at Liverpool.

Odds on former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas to become the next permanent manager of Liverpool were dramatically slashed on Wednesday evening.

The Reds sacked Anfield legend Kenny Dalglish on Wednesday afternoon after the club's worst finish in Premier League history.

Villas-Boas, who was dismissed from Stamford Bridge in March, has now emerged as the favourite to succeed the Scot.

Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group said on Wednesday that their search for a new manager would start immediately.
