Jose Mourinho unsurprised by Diego Costa call-up

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho insists that he is unsurprised that striker Diego Costa has been called up by Spain, despite concerns over his fitness.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that he has "no reaction" to the news that striker Diego Costa has been included in the Spain squad for their upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers.

Mourinho had previously stated that the 25-year-old required rest as he continues to manage a lingering hamstring issue, but after he was included by Vicente del Bosque, the Portuguese has passed responsibility of his fitness over to the national team coach.

The 51-year-old told reporters: "I have no reaction. I'm not surprised. If he has a problem playing against Arsenal, he has a problem playing for Chelsea.

"The Champions League match was crucial for us so I had to go with everybody. Arsenal is also an important match.

"He plays against Arsenal. What happens after that is not my responsibility"

Costa has scored eight goals in as many games for the Blues since his arrival from Atletico Madrid.
